Travel back to a time of 1960s flower power with a festive Sixties party.
As guests enter the party area, they should be transported back in time. They should pass through long handmade strings of colorful beads (posted at the door) into a room lit only by lava lamps, and decorated with stick on wall appliqués depicting brightly colored flowers and dangling peace signs, homemade from tin foil or paper mache. Homemade floral wreathes, charm necklaces bearing peace signs, handmade bead necklaces, jewelry flowers and peace signs could add the ideal finishing touch to these costumes.
After the 1960s dance guests could sit down to enjoy a classic sixties film, like the Beatles’ “Help!”, “Bonnie and Clyde,” “Dr. Zhivago,” “Dr. Strangelove (Or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb).” As they watch they can munch on homemade, all-natural goodies like whole wheat spice cake and trail mix.
